Veterinary Receptionist Vacancy

We are looking for an exceptional person to join our reception team.

37 hours per week. + 1 Saturday in 3

There is no such thing as a ‘normal’ day at a busy Veterinary Referral Hospital and working here at South Devon Veterinary Hospital is no exception. Our experienced receptionists provide the clinical team with administrative support as well as giving every client, every day, an exceptional standard of care and commitment.

We offer a small and friendly 1st opinion service, plus clients from all over the South West and beyond are referred to us for a range of specialist services including outpatient CT scans, Lap spays, cardiac clinic, orthopedics, dermatology, and we provide one of the top specialist Ophthalmic services in the region.

Ideally you will have had experience in the veterinary industry, most definitely you will have proven history working in a service industry dealing with clients face to face, it will matter to you that you give our clients the very best service. Our clients are naturally concerned about their pet, so we are looking for someone who is kind and empathetic whilst maintaining a professional and polite manner.

You should be adaptable and remain calm working under pressure. You will be expected to provide administrative support to both our clinical team and referring vets so experience using Word, Excel, and similar is essential. Cash handling and dealing with accounts would be a plus. If you have experience working with a Practice Management System even better, but you will receive training on our current system.
