Dr. Heather Coupe BVSc MSc MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon

Heather graduated from the University of Bristol in 2021 with both an undergraduate degree in Veterinary Science and a postgraduate degree in Global Wildlife Health and Conservation. She also holds an Official Veterinarian qualification (Meat Premises), as well as certifications as an Animal Welfare Officer (AWO) and Poultry Welfare Officer (PWO).

Heather has a particular passion for exotic animal medicine. She completed a dedicated internship in exotics at Highcroft Veterinary Hospital, where she gained hands-on experience with both first opinion and referral cases. Prior to her current role, she worked as a Veterinary Officer at Paignton Zoo and Environmental Park, further honing her skills with a wide range of species.

She has been actively involved in the wider veterinary community, serving as the Student President for the European Association of Zoo and Wildlife Veterinarians (EAZWV), presenting at the British Veterinary Zoological Society (BVZS) conference for several years, and delivering educational webinars for Just Exotics to help other vets deepen their understanding of exotic medicine.

Outside of work, Heather enjoys spending time in nature, painting, and exploring the world through travel.
